Company Profile

Founded by Mr. Jaswant Singh Saini in 1969, Mallika Floral has been an iconic name in the floral industry. Recognized as the first flower shop in Delhi by Prime Ministers Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Mallika Floral quickly became synonymous with quality, elegance, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

From its humble beginnings before the establishment of Ghazipur flower mandi, Mallika Floral grew rapidly and expanded to Bombay, Agra, and Mathura in the 70s. After the untimely passing of Mr. Sunil Saini, Mrs. Anju Saini continued the legacy and moved the business to its current location in Shankar Market, Connaught Place, and later to Noida Sector 18.

Today, Mallika Floral remains a cherished name in the floral industry, offering a variety of products ranging from fresh flowers and plants to cakes and gifts, and is even recognized by the Government of India. Their rich history and commitment to providing beautiful arrangements have earned them a trusted reputation.

The Brief

When Mallika Floral approached BrandKob for a Visual Brand Identity redesign, they wanted to keep their heritage intact while modernizing their look. They felt the need for a subtle update to the logo, as well as a more consistent, unified brand guide that could be used for all future communications. The goal was to build a strong, memorable identity that would differentiate Mallika Floral from competitors and convey the elegance and high standards they’ve built over decades.

They also needed marketing collateral, specifically a trifold poster, which could showcase the awards, prestigious clients, products, and services while maintaining the brand’s aesthetic values.

The Approach

Step 1: Refining the Logo The existing logo was symbolic of Mallika Floral’s long-standing presence in the industry. While it was familiar and loved, we believed that subtle adjustments were necessary to give it a more modern and timeless look. We worked with the logo mark and made slight refinements, ensuring that it retained its recognizable features while adding a touch of sophistication and visual appeal that would resonate in a modern marketplace.

Step 2: Crafting a Complete Brand Guide Once we made the minor adjustments to the logo, we moved forward by designing an entirely new brand guide. This guide was crucial for maintaining consistency in how the brand was perceived, both online and offline. It documented every element of the visual identity:

  • Logo Usage: Guidelines for proper scaling, spacing, and placement to ensure the logo looked crisp and consistent across all media.
  • Color Palette: A carefully selected color palette that reflected the vibrancy of the floral business while maintaining elegance and warmth. Colors were chosen to be fresh, welcoming, and aligned with the values of Mallika Floral.
  • Typography: Selection of fonts that felt traditional yet modern, providing a harmonious balance between readability and sophistication. The typography was designed to be versatile, working across various platforms and collateral.
  • Visual Tone: We defined the overall visual tone of the brand—warm, inviting, and polished. This ensured that every design element, from marketing materials to the website, conveyed the same message: Mallika Floral is both a legacy and a modern-day floral business.

Step 3: Designing the Trifold Poster The trifold poster proved to be one of the more challenging aspects of the project. We had a lot to convey within a small, confined space, and it was important that the layout did not feel overcrowded or cluttered.

  • Awards and Prestigious Clients: These were displayed in an elegant, clean manner, with custom icons to represent the accolades without overwhelming the viewer.
  • Products and Services: We strategically grouped the products and services into categories, keeping a cohesive visual flow that allowed the reader to absorb information easily. Beautiful images of flowers, cakes, and plants were paired with short, engaging descriptions.
  • Contact Information: Positioned strategically, ensuring easy access for anyone wanting to place an order or inquire further.
  • The overall challenge was to balance the content, making sure the poster was visually appealing while not looking too crowded, and the design was a perfect reflection of Mallika Floral’s legacy and elegance.

Step 4: Final Adjustments & Testing Once the brand guide and poster were ready, we ensured everything from the color scheme to the typography was aligned with the company’s values and mission. We also made sure the visual identity was versatile enough to be used across a range of marketing materials, from business cards and websites to digital ads and promotional items.
